How are we doing?

So I'm thinking...

Welcome to WIND

Why WIND?
In major European markets like Italy and Greece, WIND is an established name, known as a market challenger; and that’s exactly what we’re here to do – challenge the tightly-knit Canadian wireless market. We are leveraging the experience of this established brand and combining it with a unique look and feel and customized offering for Canadians. And we are delivering on what we know Canadians want, because you’ve told us, on forums such as Wireless Soapbox. WIND believes the power of conversation can help make things better. Through conversation with you we will be able to create the superior wireless experience you have been waiting for. It’s no secret the Canadian wireless market lags far behind Europe and the U.S. when it comes to wireless service, technology and customer service. We know we can raise the bar here in Canada - we will make it happen. How will WIND change the wireless game for Canadians?

  • Through dialogue, we’ll hear what you want from your wireless provider and make that a reality
  • Your customer experience will be driven by simplicity
  • You will have unparalleled control over your service
  • We will provide value at every turn
Today we are launching the first stage of our online community, and we’re currently on target to launch in key cities in late 2009, with more to follow in 2010. Stay tuned to this blog for more announcements in the coming weeks.

This is very exciting, Ken! In a negativity-focused industry it is great to see a positive light spring forth. In many discussions about Canadian carriers it is always about picking "the least evil" firm, whereas it should be about picking the best. The social media effort your firm is carrying out is one that will undoubtedly be used as an example in the future.

I look forward to all of the future announcements!

This is very positive news! The wireless industry in Canada is not competetive enough! Cole is right, it should be about picking the best. As a Brit in Canada I have been appalled at the service and lack of options available as a customer. Looking forward to WIND!

Looking to Europe for wireless alternatives in Canada is great news! Keep up the awesome work and I don't know how many lobbyists you guys have in Ottawa yet, but get them in there and fast. Market protectionism practiced by this government and lobbied by the big three telecoms economically hurts Canadians, discourages competition and keeps Canada lagging behind in cellular penetration.

Ken -- as a brand guy you can appreciate the need to create something unique that helps break through the noise in the market. Why did you pick Wind? There is no brand recognition in Canada for this brand? You had the chance to do something completely new and you decided not too. Oops, I said you decided – I bet you did not decide. A trained Monkey could have picked the family brand – why did they hire you?

I fear your company is a shell for foreign owners and they only want cash out of Canada

I support the investigation of your ownership
