Just watch out for that first bill! Won't seem so sweet then when you find out Wind charges hidden fees like 25 cents per minute and 10 cents per 25kb on top of your plan whenever you are outside of Calgary. Might as well have a wire attached to it.

$0.25/min is less than the long distance he would be paying from any of the others. Additionally, roaming can be disabled. If the phone is good (rim tend to be CRAP), then it would also be possible to disable DATA ROAMING (i.e., phone works, data doesn't).
If I drive from Calgary to Lethbridge and make a call with Rogers, Bell, Telus I am using my LOCAL minutes.. heck if I go to Toronto and call a Toronto number with my Calgary phone, it's still local- not long distance! There is no domestic roaming in Canada other then with Wind.
Yep, I was there. They had the Microsoft Surface screen there to display phones and plans and it was really cool! I met Chris and Ken, along with some of the employees. A great experience for sure! I got there an hour early to get ready. Got myself a Bold, a couple of touques, a lanyard and a pen. Was nice to see the guys behind the service and I actually got interviewed by a couple TV stations and a newspaper.
