So I'm thinking...

Rumor has it WIND will be selling the n900 at some point. They haven't given a date, or even a general timeframe for it though.

    I bought mine at newegg.ca
The price was CAD 599 + PST + GST.
No border and/or brokerage fees - just a signature on delivery.
It took a week to get to Ontario from California (it went the slowest, least expensive way by UPS - no wonder since delivery was included in the purchase price)

Thanks johan! Price is now up 50 bucks on newegg.ca ;(

Great if Wind will be offering the N900 but not sure if I can wait... especially without a "coming soon" statement from Wind.

I suppose $599 is not too bad... we're still lagging behind the US though. In the US you can get an n900 sub-$500, considering this and the dollars being close to parity we're still paying a good $100+ more than in the US

Excuse me while I go cry in a corner

The newegg.ca $599+ including shipping was a good deal. Probably the best we'll see for a while...

Yep, looks like about a $100 premium for us. But more now...

I saw it at Dell in the US for $529 a few days ago. But no delivery to Canada...

Looks like about the same price to bring it over the border versus buying it locally at the present moment.

Check out NCIX for a real shocker! $899... now that's a profit!

WIND is bringing the N900 very, very soon, I can confirm.

Hold out on lightening your wallet for now.

Okay... I'm going to wait a bit. Hopefully I'll thank you!

It's just that my 3yr CDMA ended back in October and I'm more than ready!

At least 3 cellphone stores in Pacific Mall carry the Nokia N900 (unlocked) at prices ranging from $600-$650. The Google Nexus One was on display at one of them for $780 (seems excessive premium to me)! I found only one store offering a Wind compatible flip phone for $100. Over time the extremely limited range of Wind compatible phones should increase if enough people ask for them - that's how a free market is supposed to work!

Thanks for tip Bladerunner! $599 seems to be the name of the game on this side of the border. Newegg is selling it again for this plus tax including shipping.

I think it's possible to price match in the US and import, although with shipping and tax it's working out to be roughly the same. Hopefully we will see N900 stocks rising here locally :)

That's a crazy amount for the Nexus One! At least with Nokia I know the hardware is proven. Still a chunk of change though...

I've been wanting to do this for a while now, but not until there's more positive comments regarding dropped calls and international roaming. Plus my bank has to add Wind as a payee before it's a go...
