I actually have one of these, just waiting for Wind to go live in Ottawa to activate it! I've played around with it on WiFi mode and it's pretty neat, can't wait to get it activated on Wind!
Where'd you get it? Did you have a hard time getting it unlocked?
DAVE wireless will use the same frequency as Wind so if I end up not being satisfied with it I can just jump ship to them with my phone.
Don't forget that Bell, Telus, and Rogers also bought AWS spectrum and have 5 years to put it to use or Industry Canada will revoke their licence and re-auction it.
I picked it up on eBay for about 320 US. It wasn't too hard to get unlocked though it did involve waiting a couple days as it wasn't an instant code. It seems like a solid phone as the google OS is nice. Motorola already announced it will get the 2.1 os just a matter of time. I don't expect winds network to be perfect from the get go, but I do want to support them. If they do fail to provide my needs I will be looking at :ideotrons service which will be available in Ottawa (quebec through Toronto actually) and they picked up the 20 mhz spectrum in this area. Either way I don't think it's a waste at all, plus it's always nice to have new toys. P.s. this reply was written via my cliq on wifi!
Dave, how did you get past the motoblur registration? I got an unlocked one but can't register with motoblur. Keep getting a timeout error.
