Vancouver will need a lot more towers. It's still a work in progress so that's why they won't be launching for another 8 weeks at least.
Definitely...although Toronto isn't good it's a great deal better than Mississauga to the West and by the time you reach Burlington service is awful...and they are moving to other areas before finishing the home zones. You came to a good conclusion...they are just throwing the network together.
How many towers are there in Toronto, could someone check jrmy please?
Not greater Toronto just inside.

I counted 41 towers in Toronto only and Vancouver has 35. It appears that Vancouver may have better coverage than Toronto because I am pretty sure Toronto is much larger than Vancouver. I don't know the sizes of the sub-burbs around Toronto but by the looks of things people in the Vancouver sub-burbs will be upset at the coverage.
Telus has 82 towers within 6 kilometers of my house. There are so many I gave up counting at 6 km. It looks very disappointing when you compare the number of winds to telus's towers. I guess we will hear more of the same. Definitely not for people who need good reception or coverage but for casual users who can get by with the problems until they establish themselves.
Windy, they sure do need many more to be in the same league as rogers or Telus.
@Justa I did a 50 km search of toronto to make sure I covered it all, I now understand the problems they are having. It's going to take a while to catch up and that's why the others have not really budged on pricing yet.
Telus have 50 towers wow in 6km of radius. they might have ruled on customers pockets as I was there client for 1 yr. and gave up by paying extra to give up the contract as they were providing me good service with nice bills.
vick, if you rely on a cell phone for business you would most likely stay with rogers or telus. If you are a casual user you may not care about dealing with the spotty coverage. In the end you will have to make that decision.
