Is it just me? How many of you feel like you are watching a really bad movie? I mean give me a break. The spin coming from the incumbents is that it's all about foreign ownership and then you have the other new entrants jumping on the band wagan, trying to grab some of the spot light, saying that things weren't fair because the rules weren't followed. Remember, the other new entrants have not been put under the microscope yet. How many of you really believe that's the issue? The more I see this show played out, the more I am convinced that it is about the incumbents trying to frustrate the new entrants and squashing competition. Because Globalive's brand, Wind Mobile is a threat to the monopolies that still exist (even though there isn't supposed to be a monopoly anymore). Also, they are the first new entrant out of the gate. They have a better business plan than the rest of the new entrants. So everyone tries to gain up on them....the spin in the media is like as if Globalive tried to skirt the rules. I don't buy that. Not for a minute. Here's the facts. The rules were followed, Industry Canada said so in March, 2009. Now the CRTC under the influence of the incumbents, made changes to the way they do things because Telus asked them to and in the process they started to make their own definitions to go against the government's directions and stop Wind's launch. I strongly feel the government has no other choice. It has to over rule the CRTC's decision or risk being a made a fool of on the world stage and on the National stage as well. Until the CRTC's decision, Konrad von Finckenstein said himself in paragraph 34 of the ruling that there was no definition of control in fact. Then he went out of his way to set a precedent...to make a definition. This horse and pony show has nothing to do with foreign ownership. I has everything to do with von Finckenstein's ego (he needs to resign) and the incumbents forcing their way onto the masses. Now is Canada going to allow this?
