After 10 years of success in the telecom trenches, Tony led Globalive’s 2008 bid for wireless spectrum and emerged as the leading new entrant. He then turned the Canadian wireless oligopoly on its head by doing something no mobile operator here has ever done – listen to the customer and solicit their advice on how to build Canada’s next great wireless company.

Gianluca Corti

Chief Operating Officer

Gianluca oversees Operations at WIND Mobile. An accomplished leader, he brings an ability to inject fresh energy and ideas to the WIND team. He began his career working in the commercial department at Nestlè; from there he moved into telecom with senior roles at TIM, BLU and Tiscali. Most recently, he led the revamp of the fixed line and internet brand of WIND Italy’s Infostrada Business Unit, becoming the leading alternative operator in Italy with revenue of more than $1.4B, growing 7% YOY in a declining market, growing market share by more than 40% two years in a row and winning the best customer experience award in the Italian market three years in a row. He’s looking forward to building on this successful track record at Canada’s leading new entrant in the wireless marketplace. Gianluca holds a Bachelor of Commerce from LUISS University in Rome.

Brice Scheschuk

Brice has been the CFO of Globalive since 2003 and is a key architect of Globalive’s growth over the past seven years. He was the founding CFO of WIND Mobile from 2008 to Jun 2009 and recently rejoined Wind as CFO. Brice brings 15 years of financial experience in the telecommunications, technology, media and financial industries. He has worked with such companies as Leitch Technology Corporation, Level Jump Financial Group, Inc., a U.S. OTC-BB listed investor relations’ company and NASDAQ registered broker-dealer. Brice received a BComm Hon. Finance degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1994 and earned his Canadian Chartered Accountant designation while working for Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) from 1994 through 1998.

Mike O'Connor

Co-Founder, Business Development & Corporate Strategy Officer

Michael O’Connor began his career at the Economic Council of Canada/School of Policy Studies Queens University. He then became the Director for the Center for Economic and Financial Analysis at Science Applications International Corporation, one of the largest consultancies in the United States. In 1999 he joined Orascom Telecom as a founding Executive Committee Member and led business development efforts there for ten years. He returned to Canada as a co-founder of WIND Mobile to run the auction for the AWS spectrum. For WIND, he leads business development and corporate strategy.

Andrea Wood, LLB, LLM

Andrea joins the WIND Mobile executive team as a distinguished and respected legal counsel. She has held the posts of Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Alliance Atlantis, where she was a key member of the leadership team for 15 years, and Head of the national media and entertainment practice at Bennett Jones LLP. She was educated at The University of Toronto (BA, History), Osgoode Hall (LLB) and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LLM, Commercial Law).

Atif Ahmad

Vice President, Information Technology

Atif joins WIND Mobile after 16 years in leadership positions at Mobilink, Pakistan’s largest telecom firm, which enjoys a 40% share in a mobile market of 5 major competitors. At Mobilink, Atif acted as Director of IT, managing both services and financial planning for his department and liaising with the holding company’s IT directorate. Prior to that, Atif was responsible for billing while Mobilink grew its customer base at a rate of 100% per year. Atif holds an MBA in Management of Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand.

Christina Sanders

Vice President, Human Resources

Christina adds to the WIND Mobile executive team a wealth of experience gained at the VP level in some of Canada’s most recognizable corporations. She has most recently served as VP People at Virgin Mobile Canada, and previously as VP Human Resources at St.Joseph Communications and Director of Employee Relations at Magna International, a stay that lasted 9 years. Christina was educated at Brock University (BA Psychology and Human Resources, post Graduate Diploma, Human Resources Management).

Simon Lockie

Chief Regulatory Officer

Simon has been with the Globalive group of companies since 2006, primarily as Chief Legal Officer. Simon played a key role in growing Globalive to a leading Canadian telecommuncations company, including forming and launching WIND Mobile. As CRO, Simon is responsible for the overall direction of Globalive’s regulatory strategies, government affairs, antitrust matters and Carrier Relations. Prior to joining Globalive, Simon was a partner at one of Canada’s leading transactional law firms. Simon graduated from the University of Toronto with his B.A. (Hon.) and obtained his LL.B. from McGill University. Simon is Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s International Corporate Counsel Committee, and for three consecutive years has been recognized by the CGCA as one of Canada’s top five young in-house counsel.

Maged Naguib

Vice President, Procurement
WIND Mobile

Maged Naguib joins Wind after 19 years of global experience in NA, Europe, the Middle East and Asia with a special focus on civil engineering, planning, project management, and procurement. Maged has worked in both the start-up of new telecom operations and turnaround of ongoing ones. Before entering the telecom sector, he managed several construction projects for European companies. Maged has a PME (Diploma of Project Management and Engineering Services) from the American University (AU) and a BSc in Civil and Structural Engineering from Ain Shams University. Maged is also a member of APEGGA in Alberta as an EIT.

Tamer Morsy

Chief Technical Officer

Tamer has more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, spending the last 12 years in Technical Management positions. Over the years, Tamer gained experience in major operations worldwide, building networks to support customer bases of up to 30 million. Before joining Wind Mobile, Tamer was the Chief Technical Officer of the Djezzy Network in Algeria, where he led Network performance at its highest levels, maintaining the company’s leading position in the market.

Tamer holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from MTC University in Cairo.

Omer Rashid

Chief Customer Officer
WIND Mobile

Omer leads the teams responsible for sales & distribution, customer care and logistics. He brings an invaluable understanding to the organization based on 10 years of experience in senior commercial positions at Rogers Communications Inc, Mobilink and Banglalink, where he helped launch a 4th national carrier. Within three years of that launch, Banglalink had gained the #2 spot and shortly thereafter hit the 10 million customer mark. Omer holds an MBA and is an experienced athlete, having competed in the Davis Cup during his stint as a professional tennis player.
