He then turned the Canadian wireless oligopoly on its head by doing something no mobile operator here has ever done – listen to the customer and solicit their advice on how to build Canada’s next great wireless company.

Pietro Cordova

Pietro Cordova, COO of WIND Mobile, is a veteran of the global telecommunications industry. Joining WIND Canada in 2012, he previously held the positions of Deputy CFO and Director of Administration and Finance of Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A, Director of Finance and Head of International Project Finance at Atlantia Group (formerly Autostrade) and Head of New Projects and Head of Latin America, at Telecom Italia. Pietro originally moved to Toronto in 1991, as Head of Credit International, Securities and Syndications Department and the Assistant to the President of Banca Commerciale Italiana of Canada. Pietro holds a degree “cum laude” in Business Administration & Finance from “La Sapienza” University in Rome.

Brice Scheschuk

Brice Scheschuk is a Co-founder, Director, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Human Resources of Globalive Communications / WIND Mobile. He has been with Globalive / WIND for nine years in a senior finance capacity and is responsible for all aspects of finance, facilities, business planning and human resources including direct responsibility for raising in excess of $1.4 billion in capital. Globalive / WIND is a leading Canadian telecommunications service provider with a national fixed and wireless footprint and 1,500 employees. Brice is the CFO of Globalive Capital and AAL Corp as well as Co-President of Brave Investment, investment holding companies focused on private and public company and fund investing and manages approximately $100 million in assets across a number of investment classes including alternative funds, private and public equity, venture capital, angel, real estate, CPC’s, SPAC’s and RTO’s. He is the Chairman and Director of Samba Days, a gift experiences company, and a past director of a number of public and private companies including Web Host Industry Review, iLookabout, Hy-Drive Technologies and Varicent Software. Brice is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and earned his designation at Coopers & Lybrand in 1997. A passionate entrepreneur and investor, Brice has been involved in some of the most exciting start-ups in Canada over the past 18 years.

Atif Ahmad

Chief Information Officer
WIND Mobile

Atif has more than 18 years of experience in telecommunication and IT. He joins WIND from Mobilink, Pakistan’s largest telecom firm where his last assignment was in IT strategy and financial planning functions. Atif was part of the core team which helped Mobilink grow from less than a million subscribers to over 32 million in a span of just 6 years, supporting the business in various operational and management roles. He has been a key member of various technology company launch and operations, including GSM, WiMAX and long distance service providers.

Atif graduated with a B.Com in Accounting, holds an MBA from AIT and specializes in Management of Technology. He is a member of ISACA and holds a CGEIT certification.

Simon Lockie

Chief Regulatory Officer
WIND Mobile

Simon has been with the Globalive group of companies since 2006, primarily as Chief Legal Officer. Simon played a key role in growing Globalive to a leading Canadian telecommuncations company, including forming and launching WIND Mobile. As CRO, Simon is responsible for the overall direction of Globalive’s regulatory strategies, government affairs, antitrust matters and Carrier Relations. Prior to joining Globalive, Simon was a partner at one of Canada’s leading transactional law firms. Simon graduated from the University of Toronto with his B.A. (Hon.) and obtained his LL.B. from McGill University. Simon is Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s International Corporate Counsel Committee, and for three consecutive years has been recognized by the CGCA as one of Canada’s top five young in-house counsel.

Tamer Morsy

Chief Technical Officer

Tamer has more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, spending the last 12 years in Technical Management positions. Over the years, Tamer gained experience in major operations worldwide, building networks to support customer bases of up to 30 million. Before joining Wind Mobile, Tamer was the Chief Technical Officer of the Djezzy Network in Algeria, where he led Network performance at its highest levels, maintaining the company’s leading position in the market.

Tamer holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from MTC University in Cairo.

Omer Rashid

Chief Customer Officer

Omer leads the teams responsible for sales & distribution, customer care and logistics. He brings an invaluable understanding to the organization based on 10 years of experience in senior commercial positions at Rogers Communications Inc, Mobilink and Banglalink, where he helped launch a 4th national carrier. Within three years of that launch, Banglalink had gained the #2 spot and shortly thereafter hit the 10 million customer mark. Omer holds an MBA and is an experienced athlete, having competed in the Davis Cup during his stint as a professional tennis player.

Mirko Rugarli

Chief Marketing Officer

Mirko is a 16 year veteran of the telecommunication industry, with vast experience in both the commercial and marketing sectors. He joined Wind Mobile in 2011 from Wind Telecomunicazioni, Italy’s third largest telecom operator, where he served as Director of Commercial Planning. He started his career in Telecom Italia, the largest national carrier, and following the liberalization of the European market, he was part of the core management team in Italy’s first wireline new entrant, Infostrada and spent three years in Greece launching a new operator. Mirko holds a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico of Milano.

Mike O'Connor

Co-Founder, Business Development & Corporate Strategy Officer

Michael O’Connor began his career at the Economic Council of Canada/School of Policy Studies Queens University. He then became the Director for the Center for Economic and Financial Analysis at Science Applications International Corporation, one of the largest consultancies in the United States. In 1999 he joined Orascom Telecom as a founding Executive Committee Member and led business development efforts there for ten years. He returned to Canada as a co-founder of WIND Mobile to run the auction for the AWS spectrum. For WIND, he leads business development and corporate strategy.
