For me the issue is number portability, fix that ASAP and I will switch, I already notified my carrier (Telus) that I am switching in a moths time...please make it so I don't have to call them back and say I'm staying with them.

I totally agree with some peoples comments about the bold 9700 and it being artificially nerfed. I do not think the phone should be full cost if we don't actually 'own' it because features and physical parts of the phone are artificially turned off and limited, that just really seems preposterous to me. This is in affect a type of contract, "buy data plans or spend a certain amount of money and we'll turn on a feature on the phone" Certain phones that have less features should be less money because they have less value but yet as said before, ...
Thank you for sharing, great analysis.

Beautiful post Big Ang, so true...WIND saves you so much money you can think of it as a reverse contract...the longer you're with them when compared to the other tecos the more money you get paid!
I would be be a very happy man indeed if I could have an N1 on WIND....ah to dream.
It 12:40 in the morning now and I still cannot use my phone it's in "emergency calls only" mode.

Dare I say it Rogers/Telus/Bell wouldn't even do this. I'll admit it I've been had. >.>
I am so glad I am on vacation/time off right now so it's just a large nuisance and let down. If I was working and did not have my phone and internet access I'd be well...furious.
I called customer service once and waited about 45 minutes to get on the line and that was at 11:00 or 12:00 at night so I thought it would be slower. My dad's a customer too and he's been on the line with them a few times - he has no complaints with the service, just that the wait is extremely long. My experience whn I got through was positive as well, the guy was friendly and helpful but sounded very tired and overworked like he was handling the whole place himself. Customer service is not a place you want ...
Wow buddy I feel sorry for you, that does sound frustrating. I don't know much about the phone but it boggles the mind why they would purposely turn off a critical feature like that. Perhaps you can root the phone then you can install whatever you want on it. I know I can root my NexusOne, is essence it gives you 'admin' access to 'your' (thought it was mine ;) ) phone. Try giving it a search on Google.
Depends on what Phone you have, I have a NexusOne and it runs Android and there are many free Apps to monitor your usage, you can even set alarms if you reach a certain point, allocate what the cap is 500, 1gb, 5gn, ect and other stuff the app is called 3g watchdog it's very good.
