Honestly guys, you expect a company like Google to mention Wind on their website...Giants only deal with Giants. Google is even coming out with a Vodafone and Verizon version, which would be supported for Bell/Telus system then. It's a company decision to make this a world phone, making it more diversified, it just makes sense.

Don't bother EIPI, they are not listening, they haven't listened about the N900 users concerns for the last 3 months, they are too busy launching and forget about the fine details. I refuse to use their data plan until they resolve all of their port blocking issues. It's a disgrace this hasn't been cleared up long ago.

Mine drops all the time, their Data coverage does data port blocking so alot of things you want to use the N900 for will be blocked by Wind because that is their policy. Do your homework first.

The issue is guys that WIND wants people on pre-paid so they can get the cash upfront and pay for their infrastructure quicker, its just a ploy that they are using. Nobody passes the credit check because it's not a real credit check. They don't ask for a SIN. I verified this with Equifax. So serves them right for the long lineups at the beginning of the month.

My 3G drops all the time, they forget about fixing that? Iphone users 3G never drops on Rogers network, so I pay $35 for data that drops while the Iphone users pay $30 for 6GB (at launch) for a service which doesn't drop. I think that's a credible comparison. I don't bother calling for a credit, might just cancel and give them another 3 months to fix their issues.

Ummm remember about advertising budgets, they need to expend all their advertisments first to cover overhead based on their launch models, once launch advertising is done, then you'll see newer phone models, its all about controlling your costs.

Hey John Thanks for the kind rebuttal, I should of realised that my "Grammy" was going to be criticized. For all it's worth it's about STRATEGY. Rogers has iPhone, Globalive should have N900, since they already have a working relationship with Nokia it just makes sense. I wrote my suggestion in like 30 seconds like I'm writing this. You know people complain about Robellus, that's fine. At least they take a credit card and charge it at the end of the month like a regular company does. How hard is that? Wind can automatically charge your credit card every month and not have this hassle...just basic common sense.

As confirmation from Graham here....http://www.windmobile.ca/community/ideas/detail/15369/ Equifax is their current credit provider. So no need to verify with Trans-Union. I've made my point about this issue now it's coming back at them.

As a loyal customer who hasn't as of yet "Topped up" I'd like to say that when WIND said they were ready to launch, we all thought hey why not give them a chance. We all knew about the system being sub-par, but we would never of realised that the administration side of things would also be sub-par. So it's a shock to us. I'm giving them another month to fix their issues.

Tony, bottom line, is phone choice, plain and simple. Sexy sleek phones sell, people will want these phones no matter what the cost is. If you launch with sub-par phones, that will make you appear weak in the marketplace. Example: every time I walk into a Bell Mobility store, I can't even imagine buying any of those phones, just awful awful awful. Good Luck Tony, Canada preaches free trade and globalization, but when it effects them personally they balk at the concept. Open markets mean less revenues for the higher ups in the Canadian business spectrum and a higher quality of serivces for customers. It is a shame that Canada is like this, the Big Three have their lobbyists in all corners of this great land of ours trying to impede progress. Restructure, make it happen, play by the rules this time. Ask someone big (One of the Big Five banks) etc to get onboard with you guys then. I feel bad for the people that got jobs there and waiting for launch, it takes them a step back during these recessionary times. I'm selfish because I wanted to see a network for the Nokia N900 launch, but I feel now for the people who probably all left good jobs to join you. Take care of your employees, they are important.

Just over 3 weeks of this posting and I'm already on page 2 of the most popular views on this website. I don't know if Globalive has noticed, but people want this phone. I just hope they are wise enough to take a firm grasp of this market share and offer the Nokia N900. If they don't then I'll just assume its because of management thinking, the same thinking that thought they could perssuade the CRTC in their ownership structure. This will be another strike against their corporate strategy if its not offered. Be wise, offer this phone!

I got it from the Nokia Store in New York City when it first came on the market over the weekend. So far has been great, except using edge, the Wind decision has put a kink in my plans of having the greatest phone/tablet in Canada. Need the 3G service.

Yeah, we'll see tomorrow, even if I'm the first in Canada to have the phone, doesn't matter really does it. But Edge is decent, nothing to write home about. As for me, I'm just can't believe how many people have been suckered by Steve Jobs and the Apple empire with the Iphone, like honestly this for is so closed up that you need a 10 pounds of C4 just to chip it. Anyways for all these guys who want the Iphone go to the other guys and get pillaged for everything you got. Phone is a toy.

It's about time your getting the N900, told you guys 3 months ago about this phone. Anyways, past is the past, good job, remember, get the Nexus One next. You guys are lucky all the next gen phones are moving away from AT&T/Rogers frequency and moving onto yours. Competition is good and for all you Iphone lovers, Iphone is the past, 2010 will be a great year for AWS and new smartphones.

Chris thanks for another great post. I move to have Chris and Graham blog for Wind most of the time and for the future, they seem to answer most of our questions. Sure it's nice for Ken to once and a while say "Launching in Edmonton this week" or other general observances revolving around the company. But let's face it, as consumers we want the nitty gritty stuff. Graham and Chris have been exceptional communicators at this. Keep up the good work.

Personally, if you spend $1000 a month as you say, and your an Iphone user, just stay with Roger's if your happy. Iphone is not coming to Wind anytime soon. If you want a blackberry or a Nokia N900 then go to WInd, very simple, its really based on the phone you want to use. Service in time will fix itself.

Are you quite happy with it because you've already spent the cash to purchase the N900 and that makes you a happy user? lol, Just teasing. Well I for one will switch over when they have a cheaper data plan and open all ports, this company preached on doing what the people want, so far with SIM cards etc, they have done so. Now waiting for the port blocking issue to finish up. If Rogers/Fido can have them open, I don't see the reasoning behind them not being able to open them. Maybe its just company growing pains. @Droidhacker-Why do you assume that we are not paying our bills? That's why we have credit cards for, so Wind has that gaurantee by the credit card company that it will receive its payment. Think about it like this, if your staying at a hotel overnight, room service, order movie etc, the hotel asks for your credit card in advance just to make sure that it will have some gaurantee of payment so you don't skip out on your bill, the credit card company is WIND's Security. Don't start throwing accusations out there that we don't pay our bills, why ...

Thanks Graham for the suggestion, I did contact Equifax and they asked for my S.I.N # and other personal information so they can track down my "Correct" score. Therefore since you don't ask for a SIN# I'm to assume your system did not send the correct information to Equifax. Again Equifax deliberately said they need my SIN number in order to process my score correctly. So please, look at the logistical side on your end first. You can just can just charge my credit card every month.

Finally sold my wind phone. I am back to a reliable provider! Never again! I learned my lesson! I was a customer, Dropping calls like crazy, kept givin them chances, the sales rep at the stores lied to me and said ya its great, what a nightmare this was, the whole experience. Honestly you dont really realize how annoying a dropped call is untill you start to experience them. I never had dropped calls before, I get wind Im droppin calls like crazy.. I could not handle it.
