I think it's a great Idea, It lends itself to the idea of "Wind" it has a more euro feel to it and its not cluttered like Rogers' rats nest of a website. It sets them apart as different and I think that's good. Thoughts? *Blade*

Your idea, albeit a good one is essentially the same issue at hand with the big three. A contract... is a contract... is a contract... You can change it around, give it a cool name like koodo or virgin did, but at the end of the day it's still a contract. You owe money and you are obligated to pay it - one way or another if they are financing the price of the phone then you will have to pay that price if you are planning on leaving. (That is basically what the ECF is) Of course, if Globalive ...

I agree with all of you. But I actually think it's a GOOD thing that not much have changed. The big three are being very cocky and overconfident and I think that's exactly what will be their downfall. SO unless they are planning something big on the down-low I actually want them to stay the way they are. It will only make it a bigger shock to everyone when WIND launches, and more people will be willing to make the switch. *Blade*

Awww.... I tot I saw GSM on it's spec sheet at blackberry.com... Oh well. I do love the Onyx though, but I don't think I'll like the keypad on it tho, It's looks like it'll be hard to type with. (My gripe about most BB's are the keypads) *Blade*

I believe that with WIND's network it is theoretically faster that DSL actually from what I read. Our current DSL is running at 7MBs but apprently WIND's new network is capable of 20+ MBs (In theory). I could be wrong tho, I cant remember exactly where I read it, or what the numbers were. *Blade*

$40=unlimited talk + text! Wth! I know lan lines that are cheaper than that!!! Honestly I don't want to pay anything more for wireless than I'm currently paying for my high speed internet with YAK. I'm paying $38 a month right now (With tax). In fact I want it to be cheaper! $30 a month, and I want everything with it! Am I being greedy? Not really, that's what it should be in the first place... Good points Shakepare! I really really really agree with hello, going green is good. If it's something that you guys can do, in the short span of time that you have, we'd really appreciate it. Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Very well said Tony! Regarding that point you mentioned about companies seeing business as a zero sum game. There is a convenience store close to where I work (Across the street from us) that I used to spend anywhere from $10-$20 a week on just about everything you can get at a convenience store. Anyway the first time it happened (I was 5 cents short) I let it slide, but the second time was when I asked one of my workmate to buy me something at the store and he was 2 cents short! 2 CENTS! P.S. The only thing that I would change is: $35 - 1000 Minutes $45 - 2500 Minutes Start evenings at 5p.pm. because that when most people are off work and they start calling their friends and family. That way it will be competitive with CityFido who gives 2000 Minutes for $45 I think. My friend who owns his business went with cityfido because he uses like 2500 minutes a month for his business. -But of course, I'm sure that your network would be way better then fido's so you wouldn't need to worry that much :)-

Yeah I have been at them, and I didn't comment because I just couldn't decide. to be honest I can't decide which one I would go with, I don't know if that's a good thing or bad tho. I would probably want to go with the $15 one, but honestly I would want like 5GB for $15... (I know I'm greedy, But I do pay $38 for unlimited at home... so at roughly half that price I would want a bit more than 2GB) We are in a recession after all. :)

I'm tired of um... ahem... borrowing... random people's wifi signal to Google something from my car when I'm on the road. It makes me feel creepy. Not entirely. Look at fido, they were dirt cheap but that didn't cut it because they didn't have to service to back them up. I would rather pay more for something that works than pay less for something that works only some of the times or doesn't work very well. -Blade

Great ideas all! I really like Robust's idea about recycling used phones for seniors or the less fortunate and I would love to see that in action. My idea is along the same lines... You know how Fido have "Fido dollars" and some other companies have points that you can collect (over time) to use towards curtain features or towards buying a new phone. My biggest thing is that I (Yay! first post!) is that I have to talk to a machine that doesn't understand english, I just want to press 1 - for Billing 2 - for this and 3 - for that. Also I hate playing phone tag, being sent all over the place to solve a simple problem.

These archaic laws needs to be amended, because quite frankly I don't see how it benefits Canadians or Canada at all. It's like painting you child room in his favorite color of LEAD BASED PAINT, then wondering why his grades are the worst in his class, and why he's slowly getting sick. Something must be done. Ottawa needs to step in. The CRTC should not be allowed to overturn the government. This is absurd!

I'm not an expert on this but from what I've gleaned from skimming through here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roaming It seems that you would need to be using the same technology as the operator that you would be roaming on. (Plz correct me if I'm wrong ppl). But I guess your carrier would only have agreements with networks that is using the same technology/frequency as they are.

Yeah 1GB isn't much, and back when I used text freely I would use like 500+ but you cant really use that the judge what wind would be like here. I'm just confident that their plans would be way better than robelus' plans by far.

The other new companies are just "filler". So far, from the plan/package that PublicMobile released, they are just another virgin-mobile, and that just won't cut it.

The first wrong: Orascom [the Egyptian owner of Globalive] should not be in the position where they believed that Industry Canada approval would translate directly to approval by the CRTC. Clearly, one can argue that both Globalive (and perhaps Industry Canada) could have been more vigilant with a view to the requirements, but it is also nothing less than cavalier for a sophisticated player like Globalive to not realize that the process in Canada has checks and balances. Well, like many of you I don't like waiting. And this whole CRTC business is liable to give me an ulcer. So how do I pass the time until WIND launches? I think you guys are asking the wrong questions here. @RJ obviously she would have need to show SOMETHING to get that loan that's besides the point. @RJ Here's the real question, "Do you think that the OUTCOME of the CTRC review would have been DIFFERENT if their *friends* didn't put so much pressure on them?" I think that's what we all really want to know. What is your opinion on this? Everyone knew the review would happen, our argument is that the CRTC decision was BIAS.

"Wireless industry hotly competitive" - WHERE did I miss something? What a Joke! "fewer phone customers" - Now why would THAT be? Is that our fault? hum... So let me get this straight. They stifle out competition, prevent growth in the industry, complain to "daddy CRTC" at EVERY chance they get, AND on top of that cut Canadian jobs, with these useless excuses! WOW! They've got b@lls, I've give them that much.

I finally got a chance to check out one of the locations, today. Really cools guys there. (But I already expected that) lol "He asked me if I've heard about WIND..." lol I told him I'm on the website EVERY DAY! and I only got like 4 hours of sleep waiting for the decision at 8:30 this morning. Not everyone needs 6GB they should split it up into smaller chunks. $5 = .5GB $10 = 1GB $15 = 2GB $20 = 4GB $25 = 5GB $30 = 8 GB (Just to screw with Rogers) $40 = 10 GB $60 = Unlimited

I hope that these are no more than just made up plans, because as I've said before they would be VERY confusing to the non-cell-savvy customers. These all need to be simplified.

From talking to many of the WIND guys at Blockbuster it seems that "Tuesday" is the big day, they didn't give any definite answers, but that's what I gathered from our conversation. If this is the case, then would it be possible to have the plans posted on the website BEFORE then? Maybe Monday evening... I would really like to go in there knowing the price plans way ahead of time.

They haven't launched yet tiger, that's tomorrow. They were paying those employees, but couldn't launch so they might as well let them at least talk to people. right? P.S. How do you find time for all those... um... well you know.

Those N900 are slowly growing on me! I really like them! I honestly see yak being incorporated into WIND in the future. Like the LD and internet side of WIND, but that's just idle speculation on my part.

I still have to keep waiting... I've been going to my local blockbuster since Thursday, to get my new phone, but I can't until I'm able to keep my number. I absolutely need to keep my current number but until this whole porting issue is worked out then I have to keep waiting. I just came from blockbuster again (5 mins ago, i tot it should be fixed today) and they tell me to wait and come back in a day or two. (They must be getting tired of me lol) Anyhow, I'll just be patient, I've waited THIS long ...

Yeah I know 2 people who wont sign up because the $35 doesn't have unlimited text. I just tell them to think of it as a $40 plan with unlimited, which is better than what the big three have to offer anyways.
