2 out of 3 of their plans include unlimited calling. Incoming minutes are only an issue for the chat plan which is aimed at people who barely use their phones anyway. Get over it. If it's such a big issue for you, wind just isn't for you. They never set out to please everyone; at the price points they do target they offer unbeatable value.

Globablive didn't choose to ignore Quebec. I'm sure they wanted to purchase licences to cover the entire country. The problem they ran into is that Quebecor (Videotron's parent company) bid exclusively on Quebec licences, effectively muscling everyone else out. Quebecor is a huge company with boat loads of money and in the past auction it was clear that they were not going to be outbid for licences they wanted.

Nate is right that public mobile bought licences for Quebec, but these are not for the frequencies Quebecor was after. They didn't actually "outbid" Quebecor, they were bidding on completely different spectrum. Also, to tkatz, this has nothing to do with language laws. It's all about licences.

Those are fake. Globalive addressed this on their other site (wirelesssoapbox.com) months ago when they originally surfaced.

I vote for NO MUSIC. This might just be an issue with my phone and/or Telus but hold music sounds absolutely terrible on my cell phone. I assume it's a compression issue somewhere, but overall it's just really, really annoying to hear music that I probably won't like that has been super-compressed. I don't think a plethora of "options" when I call is really necessary; just make your reps aware of all your plans and policies, that way anybody can help me with any and all questions I might have.

Just a quick note: I don't think in-store digital displays are actually preferable to the paper posters they are intended to replace. Paper posters represent a "static" environmental impact, whereas digital displays will constantly be drawing power. Overall, I think that the excess power draw of the displays will be more damaging to the environment than the periodic printing of posters.

The CRTC is supposed to hand down their ruling regarding Wind's ownership next Friday and I get the feeling that that is what they are waiting for before making an official announcement. No... not at all. Wind is a CELL PHONE company. They will be selling cell phones and the associated service. Routers are for internet access. They have nothing to do with cell phones.

If you want money, have an IPO and sell your stock on the TSX. Then you could even offer rebates to share holders. I would gladly buy maybe a thousand dollar's worth since I strongly believe that ultimately you will make money if you are allowed to launch.

DAVE wireless will use the same frequency as Wind so if I end up not being satisfied with it I can just jump ship to them with my phone. Don't forget that Bell, Telus, and Rogers also bought AWS spectrum and have 5 years to put it to use or Industry Canada will revoke their licence and re-auction it.

Where'd you get it? Did you have a hard time getting it unlocked?
