totaly agree, like disabling wifi so you are forced to use the internet. and pay all the time.

I was really disappointed by the CRTC's ruling that Globalive was "not Canadian" enough to operate a wireless complany in Canada. I do Agree with the Canadian content law to an extent. no i agree but that has to go with unreadable bills. i magicly got a $400 phone bill because they had changed my longdistance plan which i work 5 days a week away from home so all my calling was longdistance. i guess that is why they changed it so i would get nailed with big bills.

but by adopting the wind brand gave globalive a step up over competion because wind brand has deals where they get %30 off on hard ware (phones) which in turn they could sell they phones at a lower rate than other companies. the big 3 are were shaking in there boots, because they could not compete at a global level. i hope they (the big 3) go bankrupt allthough they would whine and ask for a bail out and say that 1000 of jobs (in pakistan and india) are at stake.

the cheapest plan at vodafone uk was about 17 dollars canadian. for like 100 minuts, and free income text or something. and the most expensive plan was 75 dollars canadian. for pretty much unlimited everything and free phone.

that is a good point tammy, i think it had more to do with the incumbents putting pressure on the crtc. they know that change is coming but they are fighting it tooth and nail. if the crtc says that globalive meets the requirements for corperate structure, than what is the issue i thought that was the problem. in line 33 they clearly say that they qualify. but also say that the law can be interripreted. so they basicly say yes you do meet the requirements of the law....but we can interpret the law anyway we want.

i think telus does that to. my telus phone i took some pictures and had to pay to up load them. and no sdcard. so ya never used the camera. its like they charge you to have the phone, then you pay a monthly fee, then to use network, then you pay to use the phone then pay for all incoming calls and texts then you get free out going calls in you local area which is 50 sq of your house so then you get charged roaming, and long distance on everything. it is ridiculous,

actually there is away you can, when wind launches robelus well most likely drop or CHANGE plans.. there is a new law that if a moble carrier changes any part of your plan mid contract they HAVE to notify you and you have the option to terminate that plan.

all the reviews i have seen on this phone are awesome. the only draw back that it has is the windows moble 6.5 which is supposed to be updated early next year to moble 7 which supposedly will fix alot of the proplems all though that is pretty much standard retorich from microsoft. but htc with there new htc sense hide alot of winmob. check out some of the reviews on it. it is bigger faster than iphone.

good idea my parents do text don't use Internet. just voice.. so a simple plan for them especially when it -50 out would make me feel better.

dont' know much about the snap. blackberries are good phones. the only complaint i have ever heard about a blackberry was the touch screen on the storm.

i heard there was a Huawei U8220. don't know any thing about this phone.

yes, wind has built a network with the latest technology, apple has to get with the times it is frequency related the iphone is not compatible with aws.... and at lauch they said they would like to have 6 different phones they could add a phone every couple of days. who knows they may get the new google phone which would run on aws.

well you also have to take into account that they are charging for both. theres and who evers network you are using.you think wind is going to charge $.25/kb and then get charged .40 from rogers no. its all in there price. so rogers might charge .15 to roam and then .10 is winds.

no i actually think that $35 is good for unlimited data. would have been better with the tethering.. but what ever. my problem is the voice plans are still over priced, 50 text messages..oh but you can add unlimited for $5. that was what we are complaining about add ons upping the price on a basic plan 50 is nothing no it should be 250 or 300 free then if you go beyond that pay $5. but you basicly have to add that right away.

i find all the plans a bit of a joke. the 15 has nothing so you would have to add on to it which would up the price. the 35 doesn't have enough, you so are basicly forced to choose the most expensive, or ring up the others with add ons. the cheaper plans are too week and watered down. for those who don't want unlimited everything, and 50 texts that is a joke. so right off the bat you need an add on.. for going after the high end smart phone market to offer 50 texts is sad.

my plan was $40 a month + 30 for long distance+10 for text + 10 for voicemail+15 for mike. +7 for the evening to start when the evening actually starts.so my bill was always $125 plus all the bs system access fee and regulatory fee and fee just having a fee. as soo as my contract was up i cancelled, what a joke.

No contract = Huge mistake. Listen, I hate contracts as much as the next guy, and I'm sure most Canadians feel the same way. I especially despise the 3 year contracts that Rogers, Bell and Telus have forced us to accept in order to get the latest devices, when the standard length in most countries is between 1-2 years. That being said, what I hate more than contracts is paying $450 - $600 for the latest smartphone devices. It's a business model that quite simply has failed to be proven in North America, and I don't see that changing anytime ...
