Masse did the right thing. Globalive should stop wasting time trying to circumvent the government and should restructure if it wants to see the light of day to fight the big 3.

Let's face the facts shall we??? 1) Orascom owns 65% of Globalive, and essentially all of their debt. Do you seriously believe that they are not the puppeteers behind this venture? If I had invested and owned 65% of a company and essentailly all of their debt, I would want to be the one calling the shots. You're an idiot if you wouldn't, and he is not an idiot. people are so blind to all of your points - glad I'm not the only one that understands the business. competition is a great thing but people (including those at Globalive & Orascom) need to wake up and face reality.

it's a delay, not the end. I suspect you have nothing to be concerned about. all will be paid - Orascom still has deep pockets.

i think it was just incompetency and Orascom/Globalive's relentless pursuit to stick it to the Canadian government. Think about it - do you seriously believe that Telus would have asked for an ownership review if it didn't think it had a significant chance of winning? If the chance was any less than 80%, and say the ownership structure was approved, Telus would have been made out to be looking to stifle competition in the Canadian marketplace by the media. the backlash would have been huge - and despite what hollywood things, not all PR is good PR.

2) how? he foreign ownership rules haven't changed? play by the rules and you can make a lot of money in Canada 3) and your point is? no one anywhere has said they won't launch. 4) see 3) 5) again, you are merely making a point. Wind KNEW their structure wasn't going to pass - that's why the adjusted it during the hearings, however, the adjustments weren't enough. They made the decision to continue building / hiring / planning rather than adjusting their ownership structure.

@N900fan - Dave & Public will go through the same CRTC hearings shortly...Wind is the only one that is launching this soon, they still have time to adjust prior to launch if they need to.

Wind would probably be the only one of the new entrants not looking to sell out. DAVE & Public, YES, but not Wind. They're in it for the long haul.

and how exactly do you classify yourself as a lite user if you're looking for "unlimited text, unlimited data, free long distance"????? Seriously - people need to understand the business before they start asking for companies like Wind to give away the farm.

if anyone was being logical from the get go you all would have stopped to think to yourself "why is Globalive fighting so bad to be allowed to be in business?" Do you think that it's to provide a low priced service to Canadians? You're dillusional if that's what you think. It's to MAKE MONEY - and they saw how much is there to be made, why would they drive prices down?? To make less money?

you guys all do realize that there are no system access fees in Canada anymore right? Hasn't been since Bell joined the bandwagon a few weeks ago....can't use that as an excuse anymore....
