I tell you, you guys are worse than Americans. Everywhere you turn you fear conspiracy..."their plans are to trick you"....and 9/11 was an "inside job". I don't know Koodo, Fido or Solo as well as you might, but a quick check on their websites seem to indicate that they are generally cheaper than their parent carriers. What's with the pig reference? Am I missing something?

Well, I watched this but all Susan had to say (she doesn't seem like an expert) that she thinks the rules need to be changed. Ok. That's what you all want here. Do you think then the rules should be changed for everyone or just Orascom?

@Tammy This is what business is all about! You do the best to eliminate your competitors. It's the art of war. Unless your work for your government in Canada, your company I can assure you does the same. May not be front page news, the tactics might be different but the end result is the same. It's dog-eat-dog world and you either accept or you get eliminated. @Rockjock You seem to have access to inside info. Keep up the good work and keep us informed. I'd love to see how this chess game will unfold.

Hey Tammy, Good to hear from you. There are way too many useless comments being posted in the last few days. You do have a valid point. And yes Rockjock knows that people learn from the mistakes of others. A quick search on Google indicates that I can have roughly 42% ownership. If I'm willing to give you money you have earned my trust and I won't need control to the extent Orascom does. Lots examples where that just works fine.

Seeing that a lot of people want to pay little or nothing for cell services that may not be a viable plan for anyone who wants a return on their investments.

Ok Tammy, you gotta let us in on your reference. I gather you suspect him to work for one of the big 3. Interesting development on the Wind side. I read here they opened up some stores with nothing to sell. Gutsy move. I would be pissed if I were the minister to approve their existence. Is that what they want?

@ Big Al's Will Telus be bought out? Hmmmm. I bought shares in this company at $28 and that would certainly be good thing. Bell could easily make a run. Nothing will happen though until some competition in the wireless space takes hold. Your federal bureaucrats won't let consolidation happen until then. So maybe 2-4 years down the road.

@ vonfunk You are absolutely right! My bad. @ Armera Is it a canadian tradition to counter arguments with insinuation of prejudice and, from your tone, I even suspect racism? My understanding from most of the folks here that it is your Telecom Act that prevents Wind from operating. Once the Act is changed anyone can do anything they want. I suspect that become true for the other providers as well and if you have access foreign money they would I'm sure welcome it. It's your country, you decide what you do with it.

@ Armera When your dollar goes to Wind I'm sure by now you realize a portion of it will go to the Middle East. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't mind. If you want your money to stay in your country you could pick public mobile or dave wireless.

Just so you all know there aren't lot people on that Sprint plan. Not to mention how many people Sprint has lost just this year despite how attractive that plan may look. Everyone just simply matched prices leaving Sprint in the cold with its own problems. Verizon is the best carrier in the US and they don't even have the iPhone.

Well, Blockbuster has been losing its edge for a while now. I don't know what they look like in Canada, but I sure wouldn't set foot in one this side of the border. It looks like not many others do either. They are always empty. I'm sure they are dieing for any new revenue source, so why wouldn't they sign on Wind.

Conspiracy theories hardly ever become reality. Can't trust anyone nowadays. People will lie their face off to advance their agenda. Latest example is climategate. Turns out so called scientists were messing with data it support their theory.

Well, a lot of this stuff is quite fluffy. Music downloads, movies, ringtones and wallpapers? That ship (content) has sailed some time ago. I'm pretty sure revenue from those are on the decline for wireless carriers. At least in the U.S. and I can't see Canada being any different. Plus you have to share your revenue with the content providers, so right off the bat you lose 30-50% of what you bring in. I do like the address back-up. Wouldn't be on the top reasons to consider but it's a nice thing to have. Is it going to be free, ...

Why are you surprised that Wind would sell out in 5 years. That's how you make money. You are kidding yourself if you think they got into this business to help Canadians. That may be their marketing schtick but reality is they are as greedy as the next business and likely care more about their return than YOU. That's not bashing them, that just the way how it works.

Don't sign a contract with anyone and you have nothing to worry about. But don't cry if you have to pay $600-$700 for your BB. ECF are nasty though, I agree. Verizon has just doubled theirs over here, although the courts I don't think will allow it stick.

Well my fellow country man, as you know the vast majority of US roaming costs for Canadians are determined by US providers. So, Wind will have little opportunity to slash costs unless they want to us that as a loss leader, which of course would be foolish.

You can make a 911 call even on an phone that was cut off...or unactivated. At least in the US. You guys are real cheapskates...not wanting to pay for anything. You think running 911 is free. Ask you local emergency department.

Simple. What will happen you consumers win, companies lose, consolidation happens, prices go back, companies win, consumers lose again. It's a cycle my friend. Hence, why it's good to have any brand other than just price as a lever. Much easier fight.
