In total agreement with most of the posts above. Things have not been getting any better, they've just gotten better at masking how bad things really are. 3-year contracts and the phones are still super expensive even with that 3-year lock in, features like caller id (which really should be standard), keep increasing from $3, to $5, and now $6 or $7. You have to literally fight with customer service reps to get any kind of concession on plan pricing or features. All the lower tier providers (koodoo, fido, solo) are becoming useless, which such limited phone choices and outrageous ...

Johnn, it's easy to be first in this area because they are starting from scratch. In fact, they aren't really first, because WIND is not yet in operation, so they really should be phrasing the headline a differently. It should read: "WIND Mobile to provide E911 services at launch." Also, this E911 location stuff is great when there is an emergency, I'm all for it, but I really hope the consumer is in control here, more specifically that locating services are not enabled by default on their phone, and only when a 911 call is made.

Bubba1a, that's ridiculous, in Europe the non-contract prices are way lower than they are here. And on-contract 2-year contracts they pretty much get the highest end phones for free. While we here can only afford the phones if we get them on 3-year contracts and they still cost a fortune!
